What is Google Meet?

Google Meet is a video conferencing platform developed by Google, designed to facilitate secure, high-quality, and easily accessible online meetings. It supports various features like screen sharing, real-time captions, and video recording, making it suitable for professional, educational, and personal use.

Why Should I Record My Google Meet?

Recording your Google Meet sessions can be highly beneficial for a variety of use cases. Whether you’re a salesperson looking to watch back your calls, reviewing customer feedback sessions, or watching back meetings you missed:

  • Record Keeping: Maintain a record of meetings for those who could not attend or for reviewing what was discussed.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Keep detailed archives for compliance with company policies or legal requirements.
  • Training and Development: Use recordings to train employees or for professional development by revisiting key discussions and training sessions.

How Can Salespeople Win More Deals by Recording Their Google Meet?

Salespeople can leverage recordings of their Google Meets to enhance their sales strategies:

  • Review and Improve: Analyze their own sales calls to identify areas for improvement or to reinforce successful tactics.
  • Training Resource: Use recordings as examples in training new sales team members on effective communication and sales techniques.
  • Collaborate and Strategize: Share recordings with teammates to strategize on ways to handle complex deals or to provide insights on client interactions.

How Do I Record My Google Meet?

To record a Google Meet, follow these straightforward steps:

Step 1: Verify Permissions

Ensure you have the necessary permissions to record the meeting. In Google Workspace accounts, recording is generally available for users with meeting organizing privileges.

Step 2: Start the Recording

During the meeting, click the three-dot menu icon on the bottom-right of the Meet screen, and select "Record meeting" from the options. You will need to confirm that you want to start recording.

Please note, if you’re the only meeting attendee you will not be able to record your meeting.

Step 3: Stop and Save the Recording

Once the meeting is complete, or when you choose to stop recording, go back to the same menu and click "Stop recording." The recording will automatically be saved to the meeting organizer’s Google Drive in the "Meet Recordings" folder.

Can I Comment on My Google Meet Recordings?

Yes, but only on the video in its entirety, not at specific moments like you can with Claap.

Once your Google Meet recordings are saved in Google Drive, you can share them with team members who can view and comment directly on the file in Drive. This feature is particularly useful for collaborative reviews and feedback, making it easy to discuss specific parts of the meeting in detail.
