What is a real time conversation intelligence software?

To understand what is a real time conversation intelligence software, you first need to understand what is a conversation intelligence software.

A conversation intelligence software is a tool that analyzes your voice calls, meetings, or basically any type of conversation that involves talking to someone remotely. Then, using AI, it not only transcribes the conversation, but also gives precious insights about your interlocutor’s tone, feelings and anything else you could need to give a meaning to the words pronounced.

Now a real time conversation intelligence software is simply a conversation intelligence software, used in real time during the conversation. Thanks to that, you aren’t limited to understanding your interlocutor afterwards, you can actually do it during the conversation and adapt your speech accordingly if you want to! Pretty useful, right?

How can a real time conversation intelligence software help your sales team?

A real time conversation intelligence software can propel your sales team to a whole new level of productivity. I think you already have an idea of how. But I’m sure you didn’t think about ALL the possibilities such a tool offers:

Understanding your interlocutor’s mindset in real time

What makes a good salesperson? Primarily how he/she handles the conversations with prospects to transform them into clients. Some people excel at understanding their interlocutor and adapt their speech to make more impact. But it can be hard, especially when you begin.

With a real time conversation intelligence, you don’t have to worry about that: the tool gives you everything you need to know about your conversation: tone, feelings of your interlocutor… You just need to react accordingly and close the deal!

Helping you react accordingly

I just told you that a real time conversation intelligence software gives you information about your interlocutor, and you just need to take advantage of that to improve your results, right? Well, a real time conversation intelligence actually helps you on that as well!

A real time conversation intelligence is like the ultimate AI companion for your meetings: it alerts you when your interlocutor mentions a need, an interest or an issue. And it can give you suggestions on how to react!

Tracking your performance

Improving as a salesperson is not an easy thing. A real time conversation intelligence helps you on that. It analyzes all the aspects of your conversations, gives you insights on your talk time, your interlocutor’s engagement, and your overall performance. It enables you to spot your strengths and weaknesses and significantly improve your game!

The top 5 real time conversation intelligence softwares

Now that you know why you need to work with a real time conversation intelligence software, you might want to know which software is the best, or would be the best for your situation! So, no more suspense, here is my top 5 tools:

  1. Claap, the best option overall
  2. Gong, the best revenue intelligence software
  3. Chorus, the best for actionable insights
  4. Fireflies, the most user-friendly option
  5. Fathom, the best free option

Now let’s explore the characteristics of these different tools to find which one would be the best for you!

Claap, the best option overall

Maybe you know me from other articles, I’m not the most objective person when it comes to Claap. But I do think it’s the best real time conversation intelligence software you can have in terms of quality/price ratio. First let me explain what Claap is in more detail.

Claap is a meeting recording and transcription tool. It transcribes your meetings in real time and records them so you can go through them again if you want to. But Claap has other features that make it an excellent real time conversation intelligence tool.

Pros

  • Compatible with 100+ languages: Claap’s transcription ability works on more than 100 languages. Claap transcends borders.
  • AI features: Claap’s AI features provide an analysis of the transcription during the meeting, and can summarize the key takeaways in YOUR OWN template afterwards.
  • Collaboration tools: Claap offers a wide range of collaboration features, to allow you or your teammates to leave a feedback, a question on a specific part of a recorded video.
  • Powerful search features: Claap allows you to go back to a previous recording easily, using a keyword, with the video library.
  • Competitive pricing: Claap offers robust features for a real time conversation intelligence software, at a significantly lower price than the competition, with paid plans starting at $10/month.

Cons

  • Limits of the Free Plan: Claap only allows 10 min of meeting recording per video and 10 video uploads with the free plan. But this is not that much of an issue as you can subscribe to a 14-day free trial (see pricing section).

Pricing

  • Starter: Free with 10 min of meeting recording per video and an upload limit of 10 videos.
  • Team: $10/month per user with 30 min of meeting recording per video and unlimited videos upload/storage.
  • Enterprise: Custom

You’ve literally no reason not to try Claap. And if you’re not sure about the $10 investment, just subscribe to the 14-day free trial and let it convince you! I guarantee you that you will have a great return on investment!

Gong, the best revenue intelligence software

Source: gong.io

Looking for more insights coming from more various sources? Then, maybe you should consider using a revenue intelligence software. For that, Gong is a great option. Let’s see why.

Pros

  • Basic conversation intelligence features: As a real time conversation intelligence software (I wouldn’t mention it here otherwise), Gong is able to record your meetings, transcribe them and provide real time analysis and insights to assist you during conversations.
  • Analysis from various sources: As a revenue intelligence software, Gong tracks your activity and provides you with insights based on information coming from your calls, but also your emails, your other softwares…
  • External insights: Gong is capable of providing market insights to give you a comprehensive understanding of your activity.

Cons

  • High price: Gong’s features are great, but the investment needed is consequent and you might wonder about the quality/price ratio.
  • Limited transcription capabilities: Gong’s transcriptions may be inaccurate and are slow to load. For a transcription tool, you would rather have another option like Claap.

Pricing

Gong doesn’t offer classic plans. Prices are customized and depend on team size and specific needs. On average, a company choosing Gong as its conversation intelligence tool pays $1,600 per user per year (for a company with less than 50 employees).

Chorus, the best for actionable insights

Source: zoominfo.com

Chorus is a real time conversation intelligence software developed by Zoom. If you’re looking for really complete and accurate insights, this option could be the right one for you.

Pros

  • Basic conversation intelligence features: Chorus’ features include meeting recording, meeting transcription and real time analysis of the conversation.
  • Advanced analytics features: Chorus goes beyond a simple conversation intelligence tool by providing advanced analysis and strategic recommendations using your interactions with prospects or customers
  • Support during the sales process: Chorus helps you by forecasting deal momentum and identifying risks during the sales process, improving your overall performance

Cons

  • High price: Just like Gong, Chorus has a price that could be a barrier if you’re price-sensitive.
  • Not very user-friendly: Several users have reported that the user interface could be more intuitive.
  • Recording issues: Some users have reportedly encountered recording issues, especially when an external participant was setting up the meeting.

Pricing

Chorus is mostly designed for large sales teams. Its pricing starts at $8,000 per year for 3 people with additional members at $1,200 per year.

Fireflies, the most user-friendly option

Fireflies is an option to consider if you’re looking for a real time conversation intelligence software. The positioning of the tool is close to Claap’s positioning, with notable differences. Let’s see the strengths and weaknesses of Fireflies as a real time conversation intelligence tool.

Pros

  • Basic conversation intelligence features: As a pure transcription tool, Fireflies’ features include meeting recordings and real time transcription and provide real time insights like sentiment analysis.
  • User-friendly interface: Fireflies is known for having a user-friendly interface, which will allow you to master the tool in a breeze.
  • AI Super Summaries feature: The AI Super Summaries feature summarizes your meetings in key points and actionable items.

Cons

  • Transcription issues: Fireflies users have reported issues with the understanding and the transcription of some accents, causing inaccurate transcriptions.
  • No speaker recognition: Fireflies doesn’t have any speaker recognition features, which can be problematic if you have calls with more than 1 person.

Pricing

  • Free: with limited transcription credits and 800 min storage of recordings
  • Pro: $10/month per user with unlimited transcription credits, 8000 min storage of recordings and features like AI Super Summaries
  • Business: $19/month per user with unlimited transcription credits, unlimited storage of recordings and other features like video screen capture
  • Enterprise: Custom

Fathom, the best free option

If you’re looking for a real time conversation intelligence, I wouldn’t recommend choosing a free option. Because free means fewer features. And you need these features to take full advantage of your tool. But I will still present the only (or almost) free option on the market: Fathom.

Pros

  • Real time transcription feature: Fathom is able to transcribe your meetings in real time and provide basic insights on the text you highlight
  • Ready-to-send summaries: Fathom has a pre-formatted summaries feature. After your meeting, it automatically creates formatted meeting notes that you can send as is.
  • AI features: You can highlight sections during your meetings and Fathom will summarize them and integrate them into your notes.

Cons

  • No meeting recording option: Fathom doesn’t offer recording options for meetings in its regular version.
  • No transcription option for recorded file: I know that we are talking about real time conversation intelligence softwares. But it is always a plus to be able to transcribe and analyze recorded meetings, and Fathom only enables transcribing live meetings and not recorded files.
  • Limited access to past meetings information: Fathom doesn’t provide any library feature to access past meetings information, which limits the use of the tool.
  • No workspace or collaboration features: Fathom does not offer any workspace organization to share notes and interact with team members in the regular version of the tool.

Pricing

  • Free: Regular version with all the features mentioned above.
  • Team Plan: $19/user/month adding teamwork features such as video library and workspace organization to share key moments of meetings with your teammates.

You’ll notice that Fathom has a Team Plan with features I didn’t include in the presentation of the tool. It’s because I believe what makes Fathom unique is its 100% free offer that includes very interesting features for a free option. The Team Plan at $19/user/month is simply not competitive compared to options such as Claap in my opinion.

Conclusion

There are many real time conversation intelligence tools on the market. Your choice will strongly depend on your use case and your budget. But you’ll never go wrong with Claap So why not give it a try (free plan available with no credit card required) ?
