What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol: the open standard an AI assistant uses to connect to an outside tool. Claap ships a native MCP connector, so Claude or ChatGPT can read your conversation data without anyone writing a custom integration first.
Which plans include MCP and the API?
MCP is on every plan, including the free one. Claap's AI agents and automations through Zapier, Make and n8n are on Business and Enterprise; the Claap API is on Enterprise.
Which AI tools does it work with?
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code and n8n are the ones people set up most often, and any MCP-compatible client works the same way, Dust and Notion AI included. MCP is an open standard, so the connector is not tied to one vendor.
How long does it take to set up?
Four steps. Add the Claap MCP endpoint to your client, sign in with OAuth or a workspace API key, let the client register the toolset, then ask a question in plain language.
Can it write to Claap, or only read?
Both. It reads your calls, transcripts, emails and CRM data, and it can write: create the views and AI fields, keep the CRM current, set up the automations. Every write runs as you and is logged against your account.
Can it see recordings I cannot?
No. Claap MCP inherits your Claap permissions and is scoped to what you can already see. Private spaces and personal recordings stay out of it.
Can I try it before we buy?

Do I have to choose between MCP and the API?
No. MCP comes with every plan, the API with Enterprise, and automations through Zapier, Make, n8n and webhooks with Business and Enterprise. Use whichever fits the job. Transcripts and call summaries come with the recording and don't use AI credits.
